Topic: "Food Preservation" is a presentation about the 18th c. processes of drying, pickling and smoking food, butchering meat for jerky and sausages, as well as the use of spring and smoke houses.
Doors to the kitchen open at 1 p.m. and will close by 4 p.m.
Please see "Programming" for information regarding parking & accessibility, museum entrance, and more.
Event is free to the public. Our Friends of Shippen is a volunteer group that accepts donations from our visitors at the end of the tours. All donated monies are used to purchase things for the museum.
