The Warren County Department of Weights & Measures serves both the purchasing public and the commercial community: assuring equity in the marketplace, discouraging unfair competition and promoting consumer confidence.

We do this by registering, inspecting, testing, sealing, and certifying all commercial devices. A commercial device is a machine that money is transacted over. There are many types of commercial devices: a check-out scale in a supermarket, a gas pump, a home heating oil truck, a coin-operated timer such as a clothes dryer in a laundromat, or a scanner in a department store. These are some common examples of commercial devices.
