The New Jersey State Department of Education will provide leadership for a superior education by utilizing multiple and diverse paths to success for all children in New Jersey.

Services

Some of the services and programs the office provides are:

• NJQSAC – Quality Single Accountability Continuum – State staff from our office monitor each district, on a three-year cycle, for Instruction & Program, Personnel, Fiscal Management, Operations, and Governance.
• Promote administrative and operational efficiencies and cost savings within the school districts in the county while ensuring that the districts provide a thorough and efficient system of education.
• Review and approve all employment contracts for superintendents of schools, assistant superintendents of schools, and school business administrators in school districts within the county.
• Review, assist and approve the following reports for public school districts in the county:
  • School Budgets
  • Technology Plans
  • No Child Left Behind Mentoring Plans
  • Professional Development Plans
  • Quality Assurance Annual Report
  • Transportation Contracts
  • Annual Report of School Aide Positions
  • Certificated Staff Report (Matrix)
  • Ethics Disclosure Forms
  • Special Education Medicaid Initiative
• Memorandum of Agreement between School Districts & Law Enforcement
• Assist county residents through the certification progress by providing help with paperwork and answering various questions regarding certification requirements, highly qualified teacher requirements. Also, aid local school districts with their certification and hiring questions.

From Interstate 80 West
Take Exit 26 Budd Lake/Hackettstown onto Route 46. Follow Route 46 West (approximately 5 miles) to the stoplight at the bottom of the hill to East Avenue. Turn left onto East Avenue and follow it to the stoplight. Turn left onto Mountain Avenue. Follow Mountain Avenue to the second stoplight and turn right onto Route 57 West. Follow Route 57 through Hackettstown and Washington. The Office will be on the left, approximately 3 miles past the intersection of Routes 57 and 31. Office is located in a small, brick building between Warren County Technical and Warren County Community College.

From Interstate 78 East/West
Take Exit 17 North to Washington. Follow Route 31 North until it intersects with Route 57 West. Turn left onto Route 57. Follow Route 57 West through the town of Washington. The Office will be on the left approximately 3 miles past the intersection of Routes 57 and 31. Office is located in a small, brick building between Warren County Technical and Warren County Community College.

From Pennsylvania, Route 22 East
Go across the Delaware River Toll Bridge to Route 22 East (Memorial Parkway) to Route 57 East. Follow Route 57 for approximately 10 miles. The Office will be on your right. Office is located in a small, brick building between Warren County Technical and Warren County Community College.

From Trenton
Take Alden Avenue to Route 31 North to Washington. At the intersection of Route 31 and Route 57 make a left onto Route 57 West. Follow Route 57 through the town of Washington. The Office will be on the left approximately 3 miles past the intersection of Route 57 and 31. Office is located in a small, brick building between Warren County Technical and Warren County Community College.
