(WHITE TWP., NJ) – The Warren County Environmental Advisory Committee is hosting a forum “Sustainable Jersey Discussion for Warren County” to focus on the benefits and steps toward achieving a Sustainable Jersey certification for municipalities.
This certification opens doors for local governments by offering grants, training, and expert advice to help communities adopt sustainability measures. These efforts lead to reduced environmental impact, greater community involvement, access to additional funds, and overall improvements in the quality of life for residents.
Currently, only two municipalities in Warren County hold this certification, and the Environmental Advisory Committee aims to increase that number.
Municipal elected and appointed officials and other key figures including staff are invited to join the conversation, and can expect to hear more about the Program, potential benefits to a certified Municipality, including grants; how to pursue certification, challenges in doing so, and some suggestions for meeting those challenges.
The forum will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Commissioners Meeting Room of the Wayne Dumont, Jr. Administration Building, 165 County Route 519, Belvidere (White Township), New Jersey.
More information is available from county Environmental Advisory Committee member Matt Polsky. RSVP by October 9, by calling 908-451-2833 or via email.
